Christ Our Consolation (Luke 2:25-35)

The “Eternal Promise of the Christ” is seen in every part of the Holy Scriptures.  Christ both as a Child, The Prophet, The Priest and The King, was foretold in all which Almighty God did from before the creation.  Nothing was left to chance, not even the smallest circumstance escapes his attention to detail, so that from the beginning of time, the future assurance of Salvation to his people was promised (Eph 1:4, 3:9; Gal 4:4; Heb 4).  The Messiah was foreshadowed in the first Adam (1 Cor 15:45), righteous Able (Heb 11:4; 1Jn 3:12), Abraham (Gen 22), Moses (Deut 18:15; Acts 3:22), David (Rev 5:5), and the testimony of all the prophets.

Christ was and is known as the “Consolation of Israel”, and that phrase, the Consolation of Israel literally means “The one who comforts men who struggle against God” (Gen 32:28).  He was a comfort to those who understood the promises of God, who not only read the Law and the Prophets, but who trusted in God as their only hope, the one who would come and comfort them, the one who would restore order to creation and rule over the household of all men, the one who would represent Peace on earth, the literal Prince of Peace (Isa 9:6–7).

In all the revelation which the Lord in grace and mercy sustained from the time of Moses forward, the people failed to understand, who Christ was, what he was to become, and the perfection fulfilled in every aspect of his incarnation.  This can bee seen in Joseph and Marys response to the prophecy of Simeon.

Is a full time Seminary Student at City Seminary in Sacramento. He has been serving as an Elder since 2011 in the RCUS, and has interest in Mission Work and Service within his local community. He has been married to his wife Daniella since 1987 and is the father of one daughter. Matthew served in the USMC in his youth and began his journey as a Christian in 1983.
