On this page you will find sermons and other teachings which I have been privileged to present to various congregations as a teaching Elder in the RCUS, and while following the call to the ministry full time.
Why BIBLEfreak?
Sometime in the late 1990’s AOL released one of the first widely popularized instant messenger programs. When signing up for the program I was prompted to create a screen name. BIBLEfreak was born. Since that time I have used this alias to self identify online.
I wanted to be known as one who loved the Bible. I was in the midst of learning about the reformed traditions “Sola Scriptura” being one of the main tenets of the Reformation, often recognized as a central “battle cry of the Reformation.” It was original, in that it declared my belief in the authority and infallibility of the Holy Scriptures. Freak, as in “Jesusfreak” was a way of saying I was irrationally holding to the Bible as my source of guidance.
BIBLEfreak’s Saying (ΒΙΒΛΕφρεακ Λεγω) is a continuation of that initial screen name selection 20+ year later collecting may of the publications and other Christ centered items which I used technology to share.
